COVID-19 and the relationship between businesses & consumers.

At the beginning of 2020, the world was a very different place. And then came a global pandemic. COVID-19 has changed the world permanently; how we live, work, interact and move around.  

It’s also changed the way we think and what we believe is important. Many people have undergone significant mindset shifts and want different things for themselves, their families and whanau, and their communities. 

Many people have new and evolving expectations for businesses. 

What we have learnt through witnessing events over the past eight months or so is that businesses that truly understand their customers, what’s important to them and what has changed for them, as well as show a genuine care and concern for their communities, are the businesses that are not only surviving, but are thriving.

At Eleven, we believe that businesses play a critical role in helping to make the world and society we live in better for everyone, beyond just making a profit. Now more than ever, businesses are being asked to consider the role that they play in communities and in societies. 

We have reflected on some of the changes that have happened in New Zealand amidst the ongoing COVID-19 crisis through a human-centric lens. One that considers the changing needs of consumers, and their value connection to businesses.
